The CricketHERO™ Program

The CricketHERO™ Program has been tried and tested in many environments within the 3 - 6 year old age group. The specialised cricket coaching program focuses on all three disciplines of cricket; this being batting, bowling and fielding. Along with the cricket coaching elements, comes many diverse benefits which the young athletes gain while learning the fundamentals of the fantastic game that us South Africans love and support significantly.

Our Team of coaches are all well trained to ensure that your child gets the most out of the program.

The grip and stance can never be over emphasised, hitting straight and partially understanding how to move toward the ball while hitting it. The swing of the bat is vitally important as well. All these batting fundamentals will be concentrated on.

The art of bowling is unique and is individually particular. Participants will understand the movements involved with bowling. The focal points for bowling are straight arm, aiming and developing structure.

The correct way to catch (hand position) will be taught and basic games to enhance catching and throwing skills will be played. Balance and agility are also incorporated into fielding as the ABC’s (Agility, Balance and Coordination) and are also very important for all-round development.

All the aspects of the program are linked with an element of Fun to keep the children interested and to help build a passion for the game.

The program progresses together with the development of the children.

Our program operates from schools where CricketHero has been endorsed as part of their Extra Mural Curriculum.

When children are in their LTAD (Long Term Athlete Development) fundamental stage, it is important to teach movement. This is done through various exercises that will assist them with left-right differentiation as well as hand-eye coordination. See video at the bottom of the page.

A fit child is a happy child. Not only is fitness important for physical reasons such as muscle growth, healthy heart and healthy joints ... fitness benefits concentration, aids a good night’s sleep and encourages correct eating habits.

Further benefits through the CricketHero program include:

  • Movement
  • Skill
  • Fun
